Tennessee-based CBL & Associates Properties Inc. (NYSE: CBL) is developing a second office building in Pearland Town Center, at the southwest corner of Highway 288 and FM 518.
The 60,000-square-foot building will help meet the demand for more office space in the mixed-use development, according to Realty News Report.
Evergreen Commercial Realty broker Lilly Golden told RNR that the existing 50,000-square-foot office building in Pearland Town Center is 96 percent leased and that rents are strong. Evergreen also is leasing the new project, which is slated to open in 2016, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development debuted in July 2008, anchored by a Dillard’s and a Macy’s. A 110-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel, more than 90 retailers and restaurants, and Sueba USA Corp. apartments also occupy space in the development.
In April, Houston-based Medistar Corp., a real estate developer that focuses on health care, announced that it would develop a senior care and skilled nursing facility in the same area as the Pearland Town Center, near the corner of Broadway Street and the Southwest Freeway.
Swedish clothing chain Hennes & Mauritz AB, known as H&M, also announced this year that it would open a shop in the center.
